Samsung SC-MX20 Review

October 10th, 2008

This is the brand new video camera by Samsung i seen it with my friend and decided to review it , i was using it the other day and i really liked it , it has almost everything i mean almost everything and i think i should start with a couple of the best features…

The MX20 uses SD memory cards up to 32GB , although there’s no on-board storage but most of them come with a 1GB plus it has a 720×480 video at 29.97 frames per second using the MainConcept AVC/AAC H.264 codec (.MP4 files) , i really loved that because the 1GB memory can take a video approximately of 20 minutes on high quality setting.

Plus there are four quality modes: TV Super Fine, TV Fine, TV Normal, and a special YouTube-friendly Web & Mobile setting. Other settings include iScene (Sports, Portrait, Beach, Snow, High Speed, etc.), White Balance, Exposure (auto/manual), Face Detection, Anti-Shake, Digital Effects, 16:9 or 4:3 mode, Wind Cut, and stuff like that.

Battery life is good for around 3 hours on a single charge, which is a really nice touch for a camcorder that costs under $300. Also, video and audio quality are crisp and clear, the 34x optical zoom is outstanding, and the $249 price tag makes it seem like you’re getting a ton of value for what you’re paying.

And the price is really good for the values of the quality your purchasing , so i guess if you want to film your family or friends on a picnic or even a outstanding skateboarding or music video this is the gadget for you.
